In her latest exhibition, Gala Knörr explores the spirit of rave culture's social and symbolic resonance. "Party is Over, Long Live the Party" features a series of paintings reflecting on the deeper meaning behind raves — community, rebellion, and liberation. “Me interesa del acto de la rave el sentimiento de comunidad que se sostiene a sí misma,” explains Knörr, whose personal experiences in London’s rave scene during her time at Central Saint Martins form the foundation of these works. Knörr juxtaposes references to rave ephemera with iconic art forms, reflecting on the duality of raves as both protest and celebration. Through pieces that evoke the energy of rave flyers and the essence of protest movements, Knörr explores how these parties continue to hold relevance as acts of resistance and communal expression.
The exhibition runs through November 9, 2024.
