Eckart Hahn is currently showing his paintings in the exhibition Fantastische Tierwelten (Fantastic Wildlife), which is organized and presented jointly by Kunstmuseum and the Historical Museums Heidenheim in Heidenheim, Germany. It takes place in the large and small temporary exhibition halls of the Kunstmuseum where artists from both collections are on display.
The exhibition stages a conversation about species relationships and represents images of animalia, including humans, in an atypical light. By juxtaposing them with situations in which they would not normally be or characteristics they would not normally portray, the exhibition provides a critical perspective for the audience to contemplate the delicate relationships among many forms of life. Eckart Hahn's works include Robin (2022), an acrylic on canvas painting of a multi-mouthed and fanged imagined animal of sorts and Owl (2021), an acrylic on canvas painting of a hybrid bird.
